Looking ahead to the week of May 29 (Week A)

A final word...

This is the final “West Wire” of the year!  I can’t believe it!  This year has flown by so fast… I guess that’s what happens when you’re having fun.

I wanted to take a moment and thank you all again for your support, patience, encouragement, and generosity you have given me throughout the school year.  I could not have done it without you.

I’m going to miss each and every one of my little Beacons as they move on to the fourth grade.  My hope is that I have provided them an educational, fun, and memorable third grade year.

If you need anything at all, please don’t hesitate to contact me.  I hope that you and your child will stop by and say, “Hello!”  Be sure to keep in touch, no matter what!  Have a safe and wonderful summer.  Be sure to read and practice those math facts!  Love and best wishes to you all!

Looking back...

Volunteers needed:  Please see the note from Mrs. Allesch below -
Dear Parents,

The Teacher Appreciation Luncheon will be held Friday, May 12. In order to make this event a success we need as many volunteers as possible. We are asking for 2 parents/guardians from each class to arrive 15 mins prior to the class's lunch time, receive any direction Mrs. West may have for you, escort the class to lunch and then back to class. You would need to arrive at 11:20 and be prepared to stay until 12:10.

Occasionally we have a class that only has one volunteer or possibly none. If you are able to help, it is much appreciated.

Please contact me, Maria Allesch, at mariaa1272@gmail.com ASAP.

Looking ahead to next week:  As mathematicians, students will begin reviewing for the SC Ready test.  In science, students will wrap up their study of electricity.  As readers and writers, students will continue studying test-taking strategies and reviewing for the SC Ready assessment.  It's important to note that you may see some ungraded work going home in communication folders these next few weeks... that's OK, because it will be SC Ready review!  Some review, however, will be graded.

Multiplication celebration:  Students will celebrate learning their multiplication facts Friday, May 19.  Please check out the letter going home in your child's communication folder for opportunities to donate toward the trail mix celebration.
