Hi, families!  I hope you all had a great week!

LIFESKILL of the week:  Resourcefulness - Encourage your child to celebrate ways of showing the LIFESKILL of resourcefulness!

SC Ready testing:  Please check out the letter regarding SC Ready snacks that went home in your child's communication folder!  If you are able to make a donation, please complete the form and return it to school, as soon as possible!  I will let you know if there are any overlapping donations and confirm dates and items with you through email.  Thank you!

Looking ahead to next week:  As mathematicians, students will begin reviewing for the SC Ready test.  In science, students will dive into the world of electricity.  As readers and writers, students will continue studying test-taking strategies and reviewing for the SC Ready assessment.  It's important to note that you may see some ungraded work going home in communication folders these next few weeks... that's OK, because it will be SC Ready review!  Some review, however, will be graded.

Hi, families!  I hope you all had a great spring break!

LIFESKILL of the week:  Resourcefulness - Encourage your child to celebrate ways of showing the LIFESKILL of resourcefulness!

Field Day:  Field Day is Friday, April 21!  Please be sure your child dresses comfortably and wears tennis shoes.  It's also a good idea for him/her to put sunscreen on before leaving home that day.  Students are welcome to bring a bottle of water, which they can carry outside with them during activities.  Please be sure to write your child's name on his/her water bottle.  They may also bring a hat and sunglasses.  Please understand that siblings cannot participate in Field Day activities with our class.  We encourage families to volunteer!  You may contact Mr. Schirmer for more details.

SC Ready testing:  Please look for a letter regarding SC Ready snacks going home in your child's communication folder today!  If you are able to make a donation, please complete the form and return it to school, as soon as possible!  Thank you!

Looking ahead to next week:  As historians, students will wrap up their study of South Carolina.  They will not take a traditional unit test, since this unit is so short.  Students will complete a booklet for a grade.  As scientists, students will dive into the world of magnetism.  They will not begin a new math unit next week, as we are trying to finish up our units of study in a timely manner before the end of the nine weeks.  Students will begin a math review the following week.  As readers and writers, students will continue studying test-taking strategies and begin reviewing for the SC Ready assessment.
