Looking ahead to the week of April 11

Students enjoyed voting on our new school logo!  Thank you, SIC, for putting this project together!

Third graders loved author Jonathan Miller's visit to our school!  They enjoyed hearing his stories of Sammy!

Hi, families!  I hope you all had a great weekend!

Looking ahead:  In math, students will continue a review of math, in preparation for the SC Ready Test.  They will wrap up their last math unit on geometry with a test at the end of the week.  Students will not have a science or social studies unit this week.  Please remind your child to practice his/her multiplication facts daily!  Students will continue their mixed multiplication quizzes throughout the remainder of the school year.  As readers, students will revisit cold reads and learn about test-taking strategies.  As writers, the children will revisit prefixes and writing prompts.

Homework for the week of April 4:  Students will NOT receive a new homework packet the week of April 4.  They will receive a math study guide and a reading log this week to complete.

Field Day:  Field Day is Friday, April 8!  Please be sure your child dresses appropriately for the weather and wears tennis shoes.  If you would like your child to wear sunscreen, please make sure you apply it at home.  Do not send it to school with your child.  Also, your child may bring a bottle of water from home to enjoy, while doing various activities outside.  Please be sure to write his/her name on it with a permanent marker.  Volunteers make Field Day possible, so if you are able to volunteer, please contact Mr. Schirmer.

Have a wonderful week and thank you again for all that you do!
