Happy almost spring break, everyone!  Enjoy this extra time with your sweet kids!

Hi, families! I hope you all are having a great week!

Field Day:  Please be sure to dress your child appropriately for the weather Friday, April 13.  We will spend much of the day outside.  Students are welcome to wear sunglasses and hats.  They are encouraged to put on sun-screen before leaving their homes that morning.  Students are also welcome to bring a water bottle from home (if they have lost their school water bottle).  We will carry these water bottles around with us during our Field Day stations.  We appreciate all of you, who are able to volunteer!  You make Field Day possible!

Fun in the Sun:  Plan on joining fellow classmates for some fun in the sun at North Spring Park at 2:30 on Sunday, April 22!

Looking ahead to the week following spring break:  As historians, students will continue studying the Reconstruction period.  Since this is a short unit, they will not have a traditional test.  They will turn in a booklet, which they will do in class, for a grade.  As mathematicians, they will wrap up their area unit and begin studying data analysis.  We will use Envision (Topic 16) for this unit.  Please check out the family letter below.  As readers, students will study poetry.  As writers, they'll study subject-verb and pronoun-antecedent agreements.  Students will revisit text-dependent analysis writing.

Thank you again for all of your support!  Have a great weekend!

Extra credit on an upcoming test:  Please show that you've supported our class by reading our blog and staying "in the know!"  If you've read our blog, send Mrs. West an email answering this question in the subject line:  When is Field Day?   - The window has closed for extra credit!
