Looking ahead to the week of April 21

The children enjoyed their "Being There Experience" to the State House.  They even had the opportunity to sit in on a session!  This was a great review of the branches of government, which we discussed earlier this semester.

Hi, families!  I can't believe how time has flown by!  We are on the countdown till the next round of SCPASS testing!

Looking ahead:  Students will wrap up their unit of fractions when we return from break (lesson 9-6 and 10-7).  They will receive a study guide the Monday they return from break, which will be due Thursday, April 24.  They'll also continue reviewing for the SCPASS test in math.  Keep in mind, the children are welcome to take home their math textbook any day, as long as they bring it back the following day.  Using a textbook is a great way to study!  Please continue to encourage your child to practice his/her facts every day!  Students will continue to have mixed operation quizzes throughout the rest of the school year.  They will wrap up their study of the 19th and 20th centuries in Social Studies.  Students will also begin a unit on Heat and Matter.  In reading, students will continue reviewing for the SCPASS test in reading.

Homework Reminder:  Since students will have Spring Break, they will not receive a new homework packet till Monday, April 21.  This packet will be due Friday, April 25.  They will not receive a new reading log to complete the week we return from Spring Break.

Half day:  Students will have a half day Friday, April 11.  If your child's transportation changes, please be sure to send a note!  Also, students will be served lunch.

Thank you again for all that you do!  Have a wonderful Spring Break with your sweet kids!

We all had a great time during our Western Field Day!  Please take a moment to check out some fun snapshots!
