Looking ahead to the week of October 24 (Week A)

Students learned all about time this week!  They kicked off the unit by timing themselves on a Chromebook stopwatch, while doing various activities.  These activities helped them understand the difference between seconds and minutes.

Hi, families!  I hope you all had a wonderful week!

LIFESKILL of the week:  Friendship - Encourage your child to celebrate ways of showing friendship!

Walk for Life:  Don't forget to "Pink Out" this Friday!  Students are encouraged to wear pink to show their support for Walk for Life.

Picture Day:  Picture day will be Monday, October 24.  If you would like to purchase photos, please complete and return the packet that went home in your child's communication folder a few weeks ago.

Looking ahead to next week:  As historians, students will wrap up their study on Native Americans and Explorers.  They will have a unit test Wednesday, October 26.  They will kick off a unit of study on the Colonial Period. As mathematicians, they will learn about capacity, weight, and mass.  We will be using the Envision curriculum for this unit, so please see the family letter below. In reading, students will take a look nonfiction text features.  As writers, they will continue learning about text-dependent analysis.  They will also learn about conjunctions.

Thank you again for all of your support!  Have a great weekend!
