Looking ahead to the week of November 13 (Week A)

Remember:  Jump Rope for Heart donations are due November 21!  If your child has all of his/her donations, you can send in the envelope early!

Hi, families!  I hope you all have enjoyed your week and the extra hour this past weekend!

Jump Rope for Heart:  An informational flyer went home in your child's communication folder last week.  Please be sure to send in your donations by November 21!  If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask Mr. Schirmer or Ms. Molyneaux!

Report Cards:  Please be sure to sign and return the report card envelope.  You may keep the contents!

Second "Being There Experience" payment reminder:  If you chose to pay for your child's field trips in two payments, please be sure to send in the second payment no later than Thursday, November 9.

Looking ahead to next week:  As scientists, students will kick off our "Don't Take it for Granite" unit and learn about different types of soil and land features.  As mathematicians, they will continue to learn about using known facts to figure out multiplication problems.  We will be using the Envision curriculum for this unit, so please see the family letter below. As readers and writers, the children will create their own informational colonial pictures books, using text features we discussed a couple of weeks ago.  

A note from our guidance counselor:  Bookman’s Girls Leadership Group will participate in a service learning project.  This project will benefit a shelter called Toby's Place. Toby's Place benefits homeless women and children within our community. Please consider helping with this project by donating new, unopened items.  A list of suggested items is below and starred items are of greater need.  Items can be sent to the school office or to our School Counselor, Mrs. Spangler.  The Girls Leadership Group will be collecting items until Friday, November 17th.
