Looking ahead to the week of January 8 (Week A)

Thank you for all of your donations and to to all of the volunteers, who made our class party possible!  We had a blast!  We hope you enjoyed the beautiful winter terrariums they created!

Hi, families! I hope you all had a great winter break!  Happy New Year!

PTO presentation letter:  Please be on the look out for a letter going home in your child's communication folder Thursday, January 4, regarding our upcoming PTO performance.  Please sign and return the letter, as soon as possible!  Students will be singing Monday, January 29.  Students may be dropped off in the music room at 6:45.  They are asked to wear jeans and a white shirt.

Diamond Del:  A permission brochure will be going home with your child Thursday, January 4.  Please sign and return the form, as soon as possible!  Your child may bring money to purchase items mentioned in the brochure from Diamond Del Thursday, January 23, if you'd like.  The "Being Here Experience" payment covered Diamond Del's visit.

Looking ahead to next week:  As scientists, students will continue studying rocks and their properties.  As mathematicians, they will learn about fractions.  We will be using the Engage New York curriculum for this unit, so please see the family letter below.   As readers, the children will compare and contrast texts.   As writers, they will learn how to use a dictionary and thesaurus.  They will also continue working on their text-dependent analysis unit.

Thank you again for all of your support!  Have a great weekend and stay warm!
