Looking ahead to the week of December 10 (2nd PE)

"Headbanz!"  Students enjoyed a round of the game, "Headbanz," to kick off our inference unit!

Hi, families!

LIFESKILL of the week:  The LIFESKILL of the week is caring!  Discuss examples of caring with your child and celebrate moments of using this LIFESKILL while at school, home, and out and about in the community.

December 6 and 7:  I will be out of the classroom the afternoon of December 6 and all day December 7.  Please contact the office directly, if you have a message for your child, since I will not be able to check my email.  Thank you for your flexibility!

Winter celebration:  Please take a look at the letter below from our Homeroom Moms, Mrs. Edwards and Mrs. Morrison, regarding our upcoming winter celebration!  A copy of the letter will be going home in your child's communication folder soon!  Thank you, in advance, for helping make this celebration possible!

Dear Parents,
Mrs. West’s class will be having their Winter Party Celebration on Thursday, December 20th from 12-1:30. The students will have a snack, juice, and a sweet treat. We will also do a craft and a game. We ask that you please check out the sign up link below and see if there is something you are able to send in to help with the party! We would also love to have extra helpers come in for the party!https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0D4EA8AA2DA7FA7-winter
Please let us know if you have any questions!

Afterschool activities:  Just a friendly reminder that I love to support the kids outside of school!  Please let me know of any sports, dance, etc. activities that are coming up!  I'll always do my best to make one!

Looking ahead to next week:  As scientists, students will begin learning about different types of rocks through various simulations.  As mathematicians, they will continue learning about the relationship between multiplication and division.  We will be using the Envision curriculum for this unit, so please see the family letter below. As readers, the children will learn about making inferences through our Treasures series.  As writers, they will continue working on their informational essays and revisit the elements of a compound sentence by studying a mentor sentence.

Thank you again for all of your support!  Have a great weekend!
