Fossil Frank visited our school! Students enjoyed learning about fossils. They even got to do a little fossil hunting of their own!
Students completed the Hour of Code! They're professional coders now. Be sure to ask them about the Hour of Code!
Surprise! The Rotary Club visited our class and handed out dictionaries to each child!
Thank you so much for your sweet congratulatory emails! It was an honor being selected as the 2019-2020 Teacher of the Year for Bookman Road! I was so happy to be surrounded by my sweet kiddos!
Hi, families! I hope you all dried out from the weekend, and you're staying warm!
LIFESKILL of the week: The LIFESKILL of the week is curiosity! Discuss examples of curiosity with your child and celebrate moments of using this LIFESKILL while at school, home, and out and about in the community.
Homework: Students will not receive a new homework sheet for the week of December 17! Happy almost winter break, everyone! (Keep in mind, they have a math study guide due Tuesday, December 18, though!)
Winter celebration: Please take a look at the letter below from our Homeroom Moms, Mrs. Edwards and Mrs. Morrison, regarding our upcoming winter celebration! A copy of the letter was sent home last week in your child's communication folder! Thank you, in advance, for helping make this celebration possible!
Dear Parents,

Looking ahead to next week: As scientists, students will continue learning about rocks and their properties through various hands-on activities. As mathematicians, they will continue learning about the relationship between multiplication and division. We will be using the Envision curriculum for this unit, so please see the family letter below. As readers, the children will enjoy creating their own books, which will be professionally published in the spring. As writers, they will continue working on their informational essays.
