Looking ahead to the week of March 18 (2nd PE)

We had a blast celebrating Read Across America week!  Check out all of our book characters!

Hi, families!

A note from first grade:  First grade is collecting money for K-9 officers!  They'll accept donations through the end of March!

Disability Awareness t-shirts:  Be sure to check out the Disability Awareness t-shirt order forms going home soon!

Multiplication Celebration donations:  Thank you to everyone, who is donating items for our celebration next week!  We are still in need of two large boxes of plain Chex cereal.  If you are able to make that donation, please let me know!  Thank you for sending in all of the items by Wednesday, March 20.

Looking ahead to next week:  As historians, students will continue learning about the Civil War.  They will also have a visit from Historic Columbia's Traveling Trunk Show.  As mathematicians, they'll wrap up their study of perimeter and begin discussing area.  We will be using the Envisions curriculum, so please see the family letter below.  As readers, students learn discuss story elements and how they affect the plot.   As writers, they will continue writing their persuasive letters and study complex sentences with the help of a mentor sentence.  Students will also enjoy a visit from an author!

Thank you again for all of your support!
