Week of March 4

Hello, families!  I hope you all have enjoyed your week so far!

IMPORTANT:  Our class is going to Cowpens next Thursday - March 7!  Please be mindful of some vital information going home in your child's communication folder this Thursday and the beginning of next week.  You will need to look over it for procedures.  Your child will need to bring a bagged lunch that day (in a plastic grocery bag or a gallon-sized Ziploc bag), labeled with his/her name.  Lunches must be completely disposable - no thermoses, silverware or water bottles.  Please also send a drink with your child (juice or water - no sodas).  Both your child's lunch and drink need to have his/her name written on them with a permanent marker. Also, be aware that you will need to provide transportation to have your child at the back bus loop between 6:30-6:45 on March 7.  We will be departing shortly after 6:45 and cannot wait for those who are late.  The third grade teachers will provide a snack and water bottle to a from Cowpens for each child.  You will be expected to pick your child up in the back bus loop at 3:30, unless your child is a friend who normally attends Breakers.  Mr. Guliano will send a ConnectEd message, if we are running late.  Please let me know if you have any questions, as soon as possible.

If your child completed an Active Gamecock log, please send that in as soon as possible.

After reviewing your child's interim with him/her, please sign and return it as soon as possible.  Interims went home in last week's communication folders.

Looking ahead:  Students will wrap up their fraction unit with a test on Wednesday.  Please note a study guide will be sent home this Friday.  Students will continue practicing good elements of writing and PASS test-taking strategies.  As scientists, the children will explore sound investigations, which focus on pitch.  In reading, students will review word relationships.

Tuesday will be a half-day for students.  Dismissal is at 11:30.  If your child's transportation changes, please send in a note.

Thank you again for all of your support and enthusiasm!  Have a happy weekend!

Students enjoyed helping their kindergarten book buddies build "solid shape" cities!
