Looking ahead to the week of June 1

We enjoyed our visit to the State House.  Students reviewed elements from their government unit!

Hi, families!  I hope you all enjoyed your three-day weekend!

Looking ahead:  As mathematicians, students will complete some challenge math problems and continue working in the Tenmarks program.  In reading and language arts, students will continue working on their Caine's Arcade project.  As historians, they'll revisit South Carolina symbols.  As scientists, they'll wrap up their solar system reports.

End-of-the-year celebration: Our school has decided Wednesday, June 3, will be the day classes may celebrate the end of the school year.  The guidelines follow those of the winter celebration.  We may have some sort of sweet treat and organized activities/crafts for the children.  We will not need to provide a lunch food, since children will still be eating lunch in the Seaside Café.  We can only have this party with your help!  If you are able to make a donation of any kind, please fill out the form that went home in your child's communication folder last week and return it to Mrs. West.  Thank you again for all you’ve done for us this school year!

Media Center alert:  The Media Center will closed its doors for the school year Friday, May 22.  Students should have returned any books that day.  If books are not returned or they are damaged, students will be notified of any charges.

A note from the school nurse:  Medications are not kept in the health room over the summer.  Please pick up all over-the-counter and prescription medications (inhalers, Epi-pens, other prescription medications) from the health room by the end of the year.  Any medications left after will be discarded.

Fees and Report Cards:  Be sure to pay any unpaid fees, so your child can receive his/her report card the last day of school.  If fees are unpaid, you will need to pick up his/her report card from the front office this summer.  If you have questions about overdue fees, lost or damaged media center books, please contact Ms. Sease in the media center.  If you have questions about payments to the Seaside Cafe, please contact Mrs. Mills, our cafe manager.

Thank you again for everything!

Students have enjoyed creating their games for our Caine's Arcade project.  They'll begin making advertisements this week to encourage other grades to visit our class arcade!
