Looking ahead to the week of May 16

Students enjoyed guest speakers from MEBA, Boeing, SC Restaurant and Lodging Association, as well as, TPM of Columbia!  What a great hook to our SC career research project!  A special thanks to Mrs. Turner for lining up the guests for us!

Hi, families!  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

Looking ahead:  Students will continued to be quizzed on their individual multiplication tables, with a culminating mixed multiplication test at the end of the unit.  Please have your child practice his/her facts every day!  They children will also explore multiplication algorithms, which will give them a sneak peek at what lies ahead in fourth grade.  As historians and readers, students will look back at famous people from our state, as well as, symbols of South Carolina.  As scientists, they will continue their electricity unit.  As  writers, students will wrap up their in-depth look at careers in South Carolina.  They will present their projects to their classmates.  Students will also host a career fair at the end of the unit.  We invite you all to drop in, to check out their projects, Wednesday, May 25, anytime between 12:30 and 1:30.  Students will also wrap up their cursive handwriting study for the year.

A huge thank you:  I'm so overwhelmed by all of the sweet notes and gifts for my birthday and Teacher Appreciation Week!  You and the children truly warmed my heart, and I cannot thank you enough for your support and kindness!  It was a wonderful week!

Bookman Blast:  On Friday, students received a letter from our Homeroom Mom, Mrs. Turner, regarding our class booth at the Bookman Blast.  If you are able to volunteer to help out at the booth, please contact Mrs. Turner!

Book Fair:  That's right!  We have another Book Fair coming to our school!  Students may shop May 23 - 27.  There are a lot of great deals... even buy one book, get a second one free!

Media Center books:  All books will be due to the Media Center Friday, May 20.  Please make sure your child looks for any lost books at home!

Thank you again for all that you do! Have a great week!
