Looking ahead to the week of May 23

Students enjoyed a guest speaker from Historic Columbia!  She shared a Traveling Trunk Show, which centered on Civil Rights.  Students also had a visitor from Fairfield Electric!  They learned about electricity safety.

Hi, families!  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

Important Student Update Reminder from Ms. Tieben:  All current students must complete the returning student update in Parent Portal  for next year's enrollment and  turn in one current proof of residence(utility bill) if the address is the same as last year. Please contact Michele Tieben at 699-1724 if you need any assistance, or you have recently moved to a new address.

Looking ahead:  Students will explore multiplication algorithms, adding fractions, and decimals, which will give them a sneak peek at what lies ahead in fourth grade.  As readers, students will a class read aloud, Third Grade Angels.  As scientists, they will wrap up their electricity unit.  As  writers, students will present their career projects at a career fair.  They'll be writing you an invitation to take home early in the week.  We invite you all to drop in, to check out their projects, Wednesday, May 25, anytime between 12:30 and 1:30.  Students will also wrap up their cursive handwriting study for the year.

Bookman Blast:  Thank you, to everyone, who was able to volunteer at our class booth!  Thank you for coming out and supporting our school at the Bookman Blast, everybody!

Book Fair:  That's right!  We have another Book Fair coming to our school!  Students may shop May 23 - 27.  There are a lot of great deals... even buy one book, get a second one free!

Media Center books:  All books will be due to the Media Center Friday, May 20.  Please make sure your child looks for any lost books at home!

Thank you again for all that you do! Have a great week!
