Looking ahead to the week of May 9

Students enjoyed a lesson by Mr. Holmes about disability awareness!

Hi, families!  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

Looking ahead:  Students will continued to be quizzed on their individual multiplication tables, with a culminating mixed multiplication test at the end of the unit.  Please have your child practice his/her facts every day!  As historians, students will be learning about the changes, which took place in South Carolina, during the 19th and 20th centuries.  They will enjoy a visit from Historic Columbia's Traveling Trunk Show. As scientists, they will continue their electricity and magnetism unit and enjoy a "Being Here Experience" with Fairfield Electric.  As  writers, students will continue their in-depth look at careers in South Carolina.  Students will continue working on their career project the next few weeks, and we hope to celebrate by having a career fair at the end of the unit.  Students will also wrap up their cursive handwriting study for the year.  As readers, students will study Amazing Grace, a Treasures' story.  They will focus on cause and effect relationships within the text.

SC Ready testing:  Thank you again to all of the families, who donated snacks for testing!  We had some snacks left over, which we will hold on to for our end of the year party!

Homework:  Students received a new homework packet Friday, April 29.  It will be due Friday, May 6.

Thank you again for all that you do! Have a great week!
