Looking ahead to the week of January 16 (Week A)

Students enjoyed mining for rocks and minerals with Diamond Del!  It was a great end to our "Don't Take It for Granite" unit!

Hi, families! I hope you all had a great week!

LIFESKILL of the week:  Patience - Encourage your child to celebrate ways of showing patience!

State House "Being There Experience" permission form:  Students will receive their next "Being There Experience" permission form in their communication folders Thursday, January 12.  Please sign and return your child's form, as soon as possible.  Also, be sure to jot down which lunch option you choose.  The signed form is due no later than Thursday, January 19.

PTO presentation letter:  Please sign and return the letter that went home in your child's folder last week, as soon as possible!  Students will be singing Monday, January 23.  Students may be dropped off in the music room at 6:45.  They are asked to wear jeans and a white shirt.

Looking ahead to next week:  As historians, students will learn about major SC battles and heroes during the American Revolution.  As mathematicians, they will learn about fractions.  We will be using the Engage New York curriculum for this unit, so please see the family letter below.  As readers, the children will look at point of view within stories.   As writers, they will wrap up text-dependent analysis and write letters from patriot or loyalist views during the war, as well as, study the meaning of prefixes and suffixes.

Thank you again for all of your support!  Have a great weekend and stay warm!
