Looking ahead to the week October 16 (Week A)

We enjoyed hanging out at North Springs Park Sunday afternoon!  A great time was had by all, who were able to attend!  Thank you to our homeroom representatives for organizing the outing!

Mrs. Harrell, our school's reading coach, stopped by to get to know the kids and read aloud When I was Young in the Mountains.  Students learned about main idea and details.

Hi, families!

Multiplication fact quizzes:  Students have already taken their first multiplication quiz!  A letter about multiplication will go home in your child's communication folder Thursday, October 5.  Please go ahead and encourage your child to start memorizing multiplication facts!  A copy of a multiplication table went home in your Open House booklet at the beginning of the year and students have a copy in their homework packets each week.

Looking ahead to next week:  As historians, students will wrap up their study on Native Americans and begin looking at European exploration. As mathematicians, they will learn about telling time and elapsed time.  We will be using the Engage New York curriculum for this unit, so please see the family letter below.  You can also check out this link for more information: All about time! In reading, students will continue working on CLOSE readings and finding text evidence to support answers.  They will also wrap up their study on verb tenses and narrative writing unit.

Thank you again for all of your support!  Have a great weekend!
