Hello, families! I hope you all enjoyed your rainy weekend and found time to curl up with a good book!
Looking ahead: The children will start a new unit on division in math (lesson 8-1 through 8-3). They will learn about multiplication and division fact families. Please continue to encourage your child to practice his/her facts every day, as this will help him/her with division! Students will quiz on their 10s multiplication facts Tuesday. As scientists, students will learn about the properties of rocks through various hands-on experiences (FOSS kits). In reading, students will also be studying point of view and working on differentiated texts in small groups. As writers, the children will continue revisiting the parts of speech and expository writing. They will also continue learning cursive handwriting.
