Looking ahead to the week of June 2

During Junior Achievement, students learned about the importance of putting money in a bank and earning interest.

Hi, families!  I hope you all enjoyed your three-day weekend!

Looking ahead:  As historians and scientists, students will finish developing board games for units taught throughout the year.  They will also work on a famous South Carolinians scavenger hunt and symbols book, if time permits.  As writers, they will create their own yearbook, full of memories from their third grade year. In math, students will create a product to "sell" at a money celebration.  Students will have the opportunity to practice what they've learned about making change in the fewest coins possible.

Fees and Report Cards:  Be sure to pay any unpaid fees, so your child can receive his/her report card the last day of school.  If fees are unpaid, you will need to pick up his/her report card from the front office this summer.  If you have questions about overdue fees, lost or damaged media center books, please contact Ms. Sease in the media center.  If you have questions about payments to the Seaside Cafe, please contact Mrs. Mills, our cafe manager.

A note from Ms. Hart regarding our End-of-the-Year Celebration:
Dear Parents or Guardians:

We are finally heading down the home-stretch!  Our End-of-Year Celebration will be held on Wednesday, June 4th from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m..  To celebrate their accomplishment, we would like to provide food, drinks and dessert for the students.

Similar to our Holiday Party, the students will have pizza, drinks, and dessert. If there is something that you enjoy making that you’d like to contribute, please feel free to let me know what it is and I’ll add it to the list.  Otherwise I am asking for your help in one of the following ways:

I.              Items needed for 20 students:
  • Paper plates & napkins
  • Juice Boxes
  • Cupcakes or other dessert
  • Other dish(es)   _____________________________

II.            Donation towards pizza ($3 suggested)
III.           Parent to do activity/games with children

If you choose to send in a monetary donation, please send it in an envelope marked “Homeroom Representative”.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Faith Hart
Assistant Homeroom Representative

Thank you, in advance, for supporting our final celebration together!  Have a great week!
