Looking ahead to the week of May 26

Ms. Guntupalli volunteers with the Junior Achievement program.  She is visiting us throughout the month of May, to teach the children about city planning, zones, money, and the importance of education.

Hi, families!  I hope you all enjoyed the cooler weather this weekend!

Looking ahead:  Students will continue book clubs, in reading.  As historians and scientists, they will continue developing board games for units taught throughout the year.  They will also work on a famous South Carolinians scavenger hunt and symbols book.  As writers, they will develop a chapter book, which will center on the idea of doing your personal best in third grade.  They will also create a class yearbook.  In math, students will revisit various algorithms, when multiplying multi-digit numbers. Please continue to encourage your child to practice his/her facts every day!  It is very important for students to have a great grasp on basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division facts!  Students will continue to have mixed operation quizzes throughout the rest of the school year.

I hope you all have a wonderful three-day weekend with your kids!  Thank you again for all of your support!
