Looking ahead to the week of February 20 (Week B)

We are celebrating "Kindness Week" at BRES!  Be sure to check out our kindness wall on D-hall!  Speaking of kindness... Thank you for all of sweet Valentine's Day goodies and cards!  We appreciated the tissue donations, too!

Hi, families! I hope you all had a great week!

LIFESKILL of the week:  Problem Solving - Encourage your child to celebrate ways of showing the LIFESKILL of problem solving!

Looking ahead to next week:  As scientists, students will wrap up their heat and matter unit.  Toward the end of the week, they'll begin studying the Antebellum period in South Carolina.  There will not be a traditional unit test for this unit.  Students will be answering questions daily in their fact files, which will later be taken as a test grade.  As mathematicians, they will study measurement (to the nearest whole inch, half inch, and quarter inch).  They will also kick off a geometry unit.  We will be using the Envision curriculum for this unit, so please see the family letter below.  As readers, students will study how authors rely on illustrations.  As writers, they will continue working on text-dependent analysis, as well as, prepositions and prepositional phrases.

Thank you again for all of your support!  Have a great weekend!
