Looking ahead to the week of February 27 (Week A)

Students collaborated with Ms. Gilbert's class and enjoyed hands-on learning experiences during our heat and matter unit!

Hi, families! I hope you all had a great week!

LIFESKILL of the week:  Curiosity - Encourage your child to celebrate ways of showing the LIFESKILL of curiosity!

Hoops for Hearts:  Don't forget that the Hoops for Hearts fundraiser ends Tuesday, February 28!  Mr. Schirmer and Ms. Molyneaux thank everyone for their donations.

Read Across America week:  Students will celebrate Dr. Seuss next week.  Please be sure to check out the flyer going home in your child's communication folder Thursday, February 23!

Looking ahead to next week:  As historians, students will study the Antebellum period in South Carolina.  There will not be a traditional unit test for this unit.  Students will be answering questions daily in their fact files, which will later be taken as a test grade.  As mathematicians, they will study geometry.  We will be using the Envision curriculum for this unit, so please see the family letter below.  As readers, students will revisit story elements through Civil War read alouds.  As writers, they will wrap up their text-dependent analysis unit and learn about conjunctions.

Thank you again for all of your support!  Have a great weekend!
