Looking ahead to the week of November 4 (Music)

Students enjoyed a visit from author Kevin Kurtz!

We enjoyed supporting our PTO at Sonic Night last week!

Hello, families!

LIFESKILL of the week:  The LIFESKILL of the week is organization!  Discuss examples of organization with your child and celebrate moments of using this LIFESKILL while at school, home and out and about in the community.

Blinky's Buddy Run:  You guys are amazing!  We only have a few days left for friends and family to donate to our Blinky's Buddy Run!  All pledges are made online at Blinky's Buddy Run.  Once you're there, remember to click on the search bar (search for participant).  You can type in your child's name and visit their individual online pledge page.  Please share your pledge pages with family and friends through social media and email!  Anyone can donate!

Career dress up reminder:  Students are welcome to dress up in their favorite career outfit!  Please check out Mrs. Huntley's reminders below!

Calling all rainboots:  After visiting Camp Discovery during a recent "Being There Experience," we saw a need for rainboots!  The children that visit Camp Discovery are immersed in different ecosystems... even a creek!  We would love to collect any rainboots that have outgrown your family, so they can be used by learners that visit in the future!  Please send them in throughout the month of November, and we will make sure they get to Camp Discovery!

Veterans Day slideshow submission:  Please complete the form attached to this link, if you would like your veterans' photos included in our school's slideshow!  Veterans Day submission   Also, be sure to join us Friday, November 8, for our special presentation at 8:15!

Looking ahead to next week:  As historians, students will learn about the colonial period in South Carolina.  As mathematicians, students will continue studying patterns in multiplication facts.  Please check out the family letter below.  They'll have their 5s multiplication quiz, as well!  Keep practicing those facts!  In reading, students will study author's purpose, as well as, other reading skills including cause/effect and summarizing.  As writers, they will learn about conjunctions.  Students will continue working on their opinion writing unit.

Who's reading our blog:  Ask your child about their favorite European explorer we've studied.  What's one fact they found to be most interesting about their explorer?  Send the fact in the subject line of an email and share it with me!

Thank you again for all of your support!  Have an amazing weekend with your kids!
