Looking ahead to the week of October 28 (PE)

Students enjoyed the kick off to our Blinky's Buddy Run during a school-wide pep rally!  Keep getting those pledges!

Hello, families!

LIFESKILL of the week:  The LIFESKILL of the week is effort!  Discuss examples of effort with your child and celebrate moments of using this LIFESKILL while at school, home and out and about in the community.

Blinky's Buddy Run:  Did you get to check out the flyers that went home with your child on Monday?  We kicked off our school-wide fundraiser this week and we are hoping to raise money to put toward improvements around the school.  All pledges are made online at Blinky's Buddy Run.  Once you're there, click on the search bar (search for participant).  You can type in your child's name and visit their individual online pledge page.  Please share your pledge pages with family and friends through social media and email!  Anyone can donate!  We will celebrate our pledges with a Blinky's Buddy Run Friday, November 1!  As of Tuesday evening, our class has collected $0!  Let's see if we can get some pledges!  Here are the top classes, as of Tuesday evening:

Career Week announcements:  Please check out the flyers below, regarding Career Week!  They are from Ms. Huntley.  If you have any questions, please send her an email.

Calling all rainboots:  After visiting Camp Discovery during a recent "Being There Experience," we saw a need for rainboots!  The children that visit Camp Discovery are immersed in different ecosystems... even a creek!  We would love to collect any rainboots that have outgrown your family, so they can be used by learners that visit in the future!  Please send them in throughout the month of November, and we will make sure they get to Camp Discovery!

Veterans Day slideshow submission:  Please complete the form attached to this link, if you would like your veterans' photos included in our school's slideshow!  Veterans Day submission

Looking ahead to next week:  As historians, students wrap up their study of Native Americans and European explorers in South Carolina.  As mathematicians, students will be studying patterns in multiplication facts.  Please check out the family letter below.  They'll have their 4s multiplication quiz, as well!  Keep practicing those facts!  In reading, students will study author's purpose.  As writers, they will learn about adjectives and adverbs.  Students will continue working on our opinion writing unit.

Who's reading our blog:  Have you talked to your child about the Blinky's Buddy Run pep rally?  If so, send me an email with their reaction to the pep rally in the subject line!  Were they excited?

Thank you again for all of your support!  Have an amazing weekend with your kids!
